Position Summary

The Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to the networks, programs, projects, and strategies of Midwest Dental Support Center. This position works closely with members within the Information Technology (IT) Department and throughout Midwest Dental Support Center to solve customer issues.

Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities

Technology Support

  • Provides technology knowledge and technical support to customers

  • Coordinates and performs additions and changes to customer hardware and operating systems

  • Investigates, analyzes, installs, and tests IT solutions

  • Builds and maintains positive working relationships with co-workers and employees at all levels of the organization

  • Troubleshoots imaging equipment

  • Facilitates conversion of data from acquired offices

  • Assists in maintaining security privileges for all users

  • Provides assistance with system administration of all IT systems & infrastructure

Other Duties

  • Will be expected to perform any and all related duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

Three (3) year of experience providing support for networks, servers, programs, and systems using current technology and software. Associates Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.

 

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Understanding of computer concepts and operations
  • Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft operating systems and software (Windows, Internet Explorer, MS Office)
  • Data base theory and maintenance
  • Knowledge of hardware and software installation, testing, and operations
  • Principles and techniques of database structures
  • Analyze situations accurately and propose an effective course of action
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Highly detail oriented
  • Ability to problem solve

License and Certification Requirements

A valid Driver’s license

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Work is performed in a standard office environment or from home office. Travel to dental offices in division. Position requires up to 10% travel including overnight.
